What is an Explainer Video?

An explainer video does exactly what it says on the tin. They explain what you do as a business. They can be either an animation or video based.
I like to think the scripts are usually a bit tighter with a touch of humour.
This is one of my favourites from The Dollar Shave Club.
Or perhaps you want to go down a more straightforward route like this one from My Gravy Train.
Explainer videos don’t have to be animations, but already we can see there’s a trend towards concise scripting.
Don’t be afraid of having some fun. Strike out from the constraints of corporate branding and produce something that people might actually want to share on social media!
You’ll notice too that none of the examples I’ve written about would have broken the bank budget-wise either. They are all just well written with solid ideas behind them about how to get some simple messages across in 90 seconds.
This Spotify explainer is as funky as any digital Ad.
